Oct 28 - Nov 3

Sunday: 2 mile warm-up 13.1 @ 5:40 pace (1:14:39) and 3 mile cool-down for a total of 18 miles! I took 7 weeks off from Aug 1 to Sept 19 and this is my 5 week back! I'm slowly getting back into shape! Great Race! Placed 6th overall! Still working with only one eye! Getting a surgery Dec 20!

Jim Ryun and the TAMIU XC Team

We went to Wichita, Kansas for our conference meet, we had the pleasure to meet Jim Ryun! We saw Jim give a speech to a group of High School athletes and at our Conference Banquet! Very humble human being! His speeches were so good that it got my adrenaline going! Good to hear Jim speak!

Tuesday: Warmed up 6:48, 6:46 then (Knocked down a tempo of 6 miles in 34:11) Cool down 6:58, 6:46 for total of 10 miles! Solid work, persistently applied, gets you surprisingly far.

Thursday: 10 with 6x100 strides

Friday: 5 @ 7:20

Saturday: 6.5 @ 6:55

Training


Training has gone good these last couple of days, had a couple of days off, but those days off are due to traveling with my cross country teams. I haven't raced since Boston 2012! I'm not in the best shape ever but I'm not in 3:00 hr marathon shape either. Some Boston pics below! Won't be running Boston in 2013! Wish I would though, but sucks looking for a roommate! Anyways...







I will probably do a half marathon in Oct 20, 2012 to see if I can get some $$. Need to up my mileage to the 90's and 110 to get under 2:30 shape and sub 1:10. Gotta stay motivated!
